COMPETITOR'S MEASUREMENT INSTRUCTIONS

Mondsee, Austria, July 15-17 2005

  1. All boats, equipment and sails must be presented for inspection and measurement. Please sign up on the notice board in the measurement area.

  2. Boats and equipment: Measurement will be near the crane
    Sails and spars: Will be measured in the tent

  3. Measurement times: Friday 15 July 09.00-19.00 hrs
    Saturday 16 July 09.00-19.00 hrs
    Sunday 17 July 09.00-17.00 hrs

  4. Measuring will be in sequence of entry on the signup measurement roster.
    Competitors are invited to enter their sail number and name on the list at the measurement desk.

  5. It is in the interest of the competitors that measuring is completed as quickly as possible, in order to have maximum time left for eventual corrections. To try to minimize waiting time for competitors and measurers there will be no fixed time roster. At 12.00 hrs and 16.00 hrs the times for the next period will be noted on the roster. Competitors are advised to check at what time they will be expected. Boats not present on time may be placed at the end of the list.

  6. Note that only 1 mainsail, 1 spinnaker, 2 Jibs, 1 mast, 1 boom, 1 spinnaker pole, and 1 rudder may be measured in.

  7. However, up till the end of the measurement period equipment and sails may be offered to replace items that have already passed measurement.

  8. Valid Measurement Certificates with matching Measurement Form are to be shown at measurement as well as at registration. The hull must also have a 2005 IYA sticker.

  9. Boats are to be presented in dry condition, complete with ALL gear, sails, spars, paddle, pump, bailers, hiking aids, lifejackets etc.

  10. Measuring will be carried out as per March 2005 IYA Class Rules. According to IYCR D.1.4.(e) the sail number of the boat shall be clearly displayed on the transom in characters of minimum height of 50 mm.
    Certification marks for masts according to IYCR B.2.1 are not required
    .

  11. Attention is drawn to the fact that sheets, portable and personal equipment must be removed for hull weighing.

  12. Only the owner and the crew of the boat, the measurers, members of the Jury and IYA Measurement and Technical Committee are permitted to be present at the measurement. Others may be requested to leave.

  13. The following equipment will be marked upon passing measurement: Hull, Mast, Boom, Spi pole, Anchor, Paddle and sails.
    Helmspersons are responsible that the various markings are in place when leaving measurement and remain intact and intelligible. If the markings are at any time in danger of disappearing or becoming illegible the measurer should be contacted for renewal.

  14. Only items that are marked as per point 13 may be used during the races. Boats may be checked for equipment used at the finish of each race and/or ashore at any time.

  15. Any work (including painting and sanding) on, or alterations to the boats and equipment after measurement must be brought to the attention of the measurers.

  16. Notwithstanding the above, it is brought to the attention of all competitors that it is their responsibility to maintain the boat in conformance with all the Yngling class rules while racing.
