Sally Barkow's Team World Champion
Americas Sally Barkow ist World Champion in the olympic Women's fleet of the Yngling Class. Toghether with her team members Carrie Howe and Debbie Capozzi they reached the title after the last race.
Second became the team from New Zealand with Sharon Ferries, Raynor Smeal and Ashley Holtum. Both teams were fighting to the last race. But the Americans stayed on track and finished 11th. New Zealand was just behind them. Russia took the third place with Vlada Ilienko, Ekaterina Kovalenko und Natalia Gaponovitch
Dutch double victory in the Open Fleet The World Champion in the Open Fleet was already fixed yesterday. The Team of Maarten Jamin, Gert Henk Bakker and Jansje Hofsta didn't want to risk loosing the gold medal and decided not to participate in the last race.
Also the second place is in Dutch hands. Tom Otte sailed together with Maryke von Ogk and Ester Otte second best. Third place also didn't Change from yesterday. John Ingalls from the USA resulted bronze medalist.
Organisation and Sailors were very content Both the Host Club UYC-Mondsee and the Sailors were very content about the perfect execution of the WC. Especially the good organisation, the professional Race Comittee and the wide program of entertainment were mentioned.
