Notice of Race
1. Organizing Authority
The Organizing Authority is the Union Yacht Club Mondsee (UYC Mo) in cooperation with the Austrian Yngling Association, www.yngling.at, the International Yngling Association (IYA), www.yngling.org and the Austrian Sailing Federation, www.segelverband.at.
2. Rules
2.1 The World Championship will be governed by the rules as defined in
The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2005-2008.
The International Yngling Class Rules 2005.
The International Yngling Class Championship Rules 2004. Rule 9.6 is amended for this championship as follows: Delete second and third sentences and insert “A series of 10 races shall be scheduled. If only three or less can be completed, the event shall not be considered a championship.”
The Notice of Race
The Sailing Instructions and any amendments thereto.
2.2 The competitors will be divided into two fleets and the Championship will be sailed as one Open Fleet Championship and one Women Fleet Championship.
2.2.1 Crews (men, women or mixed) will be eligible to enter the Open Fleet Championship in accordance with the Yngling Championship Rules.
2.2.2 Only all Women crews, of an all-up weight less than 205 kg, will be eligible to enter the Women Fleet Championship. All competitors sailing Women Fleet Championship shall present themselves for weighing every day at the posted time, before racing. Competitors failing to meet the weight limit shall not sail in any races that day and will be scored DNS.

According to ISAF regulation 20.
4. Eligibility and Applications for Entries
4.1 The total numbers of entries to both championships may be limited to 100 boats.
4.2 Eligibility for entry for the Open Fleet Championship will be in accordance with the IYA World Championship Rule 6 with the Amendment of Rule 6.4 that the IYA Executive Committee may limit the total number of entries. Each ISAF Member National Authority is entitled to enter at least one team.
4.3 Eligibility for entry for the Woman Fleet Championship will be in accordance with the IYA World Championship Rule 7 with the Amendment of Rule 7.4 that the IYA Executive Committee may limit the total number of entries. Each ISAF Member National Authority is entitled to enter at least one team.
4.4 Each National Yngling Association (NYA) or National Authority (NA) wishing to enter boats for the Open and Woman Fleet Championship, shall complete the “Application for Entries” form received from the organizing authority.

Post marked not later than May, 9th 2005.
4.5 A fee of CHF 27.00 per boat, shall be forwarded to the IYA through payment to:

5. Entry and Final Entry Form
5.1 The boats, selected by their NYA or NA in accordance with the IYA Eligibility Rules will receive the
“Final Entry Form” from their NYA or NA. This form, together with a copy of the valid Measurement Certificate for the boat and the Insurance certificate shall be send to:

Post marked not later than June, 20th 2005.
5.2 The Entry Fee is € 295,--. This will be collected by your National Yngling Association or National Authority and forwarded to:

The payment must be settled not later than June, 20th 2005
5.3 Only boats that have completed registration, paid the entry fee and passed the prescribed measurement check procedure, for which a certified copy of the measurement form, as well as the measurement certificate will be required, no later than 1100 h July, 17th 2005 are entitled to race.

7. Schedule of Events
Friday July 15th Registration and measurement, 09.00 to 18.00 hours
Saturday July 16th Registration and measurement, 09.00 to 18.00 hours
Sunday July 17th Registration and measurement; 09.00 to 13.00 hours
Practice race; warning signal: 13.00 hours
Opening Ceremony:19.00 hours
Monday July 18th Warning signal for the 1st Race
Tuesday July 19th Races
Wednesday July 20th Races
Championship Dinner and WC-Party
Thursday July 21st Spare day if at least 6 races are completed
Friday July 22nd Races

Two races are scheduled per day. One extra race per day may be sailed if the Race Committee so decides, depending on wind or weather forecast. The above schedule may be changed by the Organizing Authority in which case competitors will be notified, as specified in the sailing instructions.
8. Liability and Insurance
8.1 All owners shall lodge a copy of a valid third party liability insurance cover documents for the boat,
valid for the duration of the Championship with the Final Entry Form.
8.2 The Organizing Authority or any other party involved in the organization of the event will accept no liability whatsoever for any personal or material damage (including, but not limited to death, injury consequential damage, etc.) sustained prior to, during or after the regatta. For every participating boat, a valid third-party liability insurance shall exist with a minimum coverage of € 1,000.000,-- per event or the equivalent amount in the currency of the country of the registered boat. Each boat must provide the Organizing Authority with a certificate of that insurance.
9. Equipment Inspection
All eligible boats will undergo measurement checks of hulls, spars and sails as well as equipment checks in accordance with the International Yngling Class Rules. Only measured equipment may be used for the championship. Each boat shall possess a valid Measurement Certificate, a copy of which shall be provided to the Race Committee. The chief measurer will also require the presentation of a certified copy of the measurement form.
10. Haul Out Restrictions
All boats must be afloat by 13.00 h on July, 17th 2005 and must remain afloat until the completion of the last race unless permission to haul is granted by the International Jury.
11. Sailing Instructions
The Sailing Instructions will be available at registration.
12. Racing Area
The racing area will be Lake Mondsee.
13. Courses
Will be described in the Sailing Instructions.
14 Scoring
The Low Point Scoring System of RRS Appendix A will apply. The worst score, except as specified in RRS 89.3, will be discarded if five or more races are sailed.
15. International Jury
The decisions of the International Jury shall be final in accordance with RRS 70.4.
16. Prizes
16.1 The winner of the Open Fleet World Championship will receive the World Championship Perpetual Trophy and official IYA Medals.
16.2 The winner of the Women’s Fleet World Championship will receive The Women’s World Championship Perpetual Trophy, “The Linge Cup” and official IYA Medals.
16.3 Additional prizes will be awarded in accordance with the Yngling Class Championship Rules.
16.4 Prizes will also be awarded to the winners of each day’s races.
17. Outside Assistance – Coaches and Coach Boats
17.1 Coaches and coach boats are required to register. As per local law and the mooring situation the number of coach boats may be limited. All coach boats will be required to display an identification flag bearing the three-letter code of the nation, whose competitor they are supporting.
17.2 Only accredited coaches will be allowed to go afloat.
17.3 Accredited coaches will be obliged if asked by the Race Committee to take a coach with equipment from another country if that country does not have a boat available.
17.4 There shall not be any communication between the coach and the competitor from the warning signal until the competitor finishes or retires from the race.
17.5 At the first warning signal of the day the coach boats must retire to the Coach Boat Zone area until all racing has been completed, postponed or abandoned unless instructed to do otherwise by the Race Committee.
17.6 A competitor shall neither make radio transmissions while afloat nor receive radio communications. This restriction includes mobile phones.
17.7 Coaches shall not carry any electronic communication device while afloat except for public VHF radio. Coaches will only be allowed to transmit or receive by VHF radios for emergency and for immediate rescue operations.
17.8 Alleged infringement of these instructions will be referred to the Jury who may instruct the Organizing Authority to withdraw accreditation from the offending party without the option of replacement during the event. Sanctions related to competitors will be handled as provided for in the Racing Rules.

19. Information
The Union Yacht Club Mondsee is located in the northern part of Lake Mondsee near the village of Mondsee. Places for car, boat-trailors, caravans and tents will be allocated by the organizing office. There will be one crane for launching and two cranes for hauling.
